During theTexas Whitetail Deer Hunting Season our hunters experience great success on free range whitetail bucks scoring anywhere from 110-150+ B&C. Many of our bigger bucks are passed over each year because of broken tines incurred during the intense Texas rut, saving themselves for yet another hunting season. Having a front row seat in a Texas deer blind while watching rutting whitetail bucks chasing hot does is truly something to experience!  It is not uncommon for our hunters to see as many as 10-20 different whitetail bucks per day in addition to Rio-Grande turkeys, javelinas and the occasional gray fox or bobcat.

Texas Whitetail Deer Hunting License

We do not charge any trophy fees. We have structured our package to keep our whitetail deer hunts affordable and simple. Tips are customary and are not considered part of the hunt cost. Our staff goes above and beyond to make your hunt a great success. Recommended amounts are 10 to 15% for the guides, 5 to 7% for the cook. These recommendations are for the total cost of the hunt. Any wounded game may or will be considered the shooter's animal. Total effort will be used to find wounded game, we use German Jagd Terriers to perform a thorough search to try and recover wounded game. Our tracking dogs are part of the Brinlee Ranch Staff, which means they also work for tips. If game is shot at and presumed missed, a thorough search will be performed before hunting is resumed. If blood is drawn on a game animal, and all search efforts have been exhausted, and no animal has been retrieved, then it will be considered a kill.

​Field dressing, quartering, and cold storage of game is included. Deer will be caped and horns packaged for return on plane. Hunter must furnish cooler. Taxidermy services are available. Our guides are experienced in proper caping techniques essential for high quality taxidermy. Guides will skin and quarter harvested game in their skinning shed. The skinning shed is a good place to congregate after hunts and congratulate hunters on their successes. Guides will handle all your game services such as field dressing, skinning, quartering and shoulder caping your deer. Our guides amaze hunters with their speed skinning skills to ensure maximum return on venison. If you are interested in high quality taxidermy work you may leave your trophies at the ranch to be picked up by our world class taxidermist.

Non-Resident General hunting license cost is $315 plus a $7 upland game bird stamp if you plan on hunting Rio Grand Turkey. All hunters are guaranteed a license over the counter and should be purchased before arrival at the ranch. Brinlee Ranch Hunts assumes no liability for late changes in fees and dates set by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Hunters must obtain a valid Texas hunting license.

Our Texas Land Management produces great results for Whitetail Deer Hunts, because the ranch is currently, and has been for 20 years, working with Texas Parks and Wildlifes level 3 MLDP (Managed Lands Deer Program). The MLDP allows landowners involved in a formal management program to have the state’s most flexible seasons and increased harvest opportunities. This program is incentive based and habitat focused. Brinlee Ranch Hunts has an intensive deer management program in place to insure that our whitetail deer obtain the highest amount of antler and body growth. By working in cooperation with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Technical Guidance Biologists we have developed a uniform deer age structure with an ideal 2:1 doe-to-buck ratio. With a density of around 1 deer per 12 acres, you can expect to see countless numbers of healthy mature whitetail bucks. This will ensure you of your best chance to get that trophy buck on your wall. We harvest only 1 whitetail buck per 650 acres, ensuring everyone an opportunity to harvest a mature whitetail buck year after year. Remember while on your next West Texas Hunting Trip the weather can change at the drop of a hat so please bring warm and cool/cold weather clothes, light rain gear and snake guards would be a plus. Brinlee Ranch Hunts weapon of choice is 30-06 accompanied with a quality scope. Game animals will not be harvested using any caliber smaller than a 22-250. Quality binoculars are a must when judging whitetail deer from the blinds. Each hunter will need to bring an ice chest capable of carrying their quartered game home along with bags of ice. We suggest you bring a 120 quart ice chest. If you do not wish to take your game meat home please feel free to donate the deer meat to the camp. All of our West Texas deer hunts are semi-guided and are second to none. We offer Semi-Guided Whitetail Deer Hunts, with a rifle, bow, or black powder, that are conducted under low fence only on our 46,000 acre ranch located in Terrell County Texas. We are a complete free range whitetail hunting ranch that produces trophy Texas whitetail deer year after year. Our guides are highly experienced and go above and beyond to meet the needs of their hunters and put in countless hours scouting deer throughout each season. During this semi-guided hunt ,our guides will take each hunter to and from several of the 65 deer blinds that they have maintained and strategically placed throughout the ranch. These blinds are able to accommodate 1-2 people and are located approximately 100 yards from the automatic game feeders to assure your success. Our Texas whitetail rifle hunts are done from good quality tower and ground box blinds.
